Special Meeting Date in May The Club will meet on the 2nd & 3rd Sundays in May, 5/11 and 5/18, due to Memorial Day Weekend on our regularly scheduled Sunday. Please mark your calendars.
Leadership Opportunities May marks the time for election of club officers for the TM year beginning July 1. Serving as a club officer is an excellent opportunity to develop and practice leadership skills that you can use in all areas of your life. Club officers formulate and implement plans to help the club meet members' needs. You will learn to set goals, plan, devleop strategies, delegate, coach and recognize people for their efforts. Opportunity is knocking...are you home? For an overview of officer responsibilities, see the Officer Roles page or speak to Gail, Jerry or the current office holder for additional information. District officer training is provided at TLI (Toastmaster Leadership Institute) sessions and current officers will assist you through informal orientation.
Toastmasters Leadership Institute The District 8 TLI is scheduled for Saturday, May 31, at the First Christian Church of Florissant, 8:00 am to 12:30 pm. Training and educational sessions are open to all. Officers-elect are encouraged to attend the training for their office (at least 4 officers need to be trained at TLI to meet the DCP goal). more info
Congratulations Sly! Area 19 Governor, Sly Brooks, was named Area Governor of the Year at the District 8 Spring Conference on May 10.

Division F Contest: Lisa Vaughn won 2nd place in the Evaluation Contest on April 19. Congratulations Lisa!
Club Contest (March 16): Lisa Vaughn was 1st place winner in the Evaluators Contest and Bernadine Chapman was 1st place winner in the International Speech Contest. John Newcomer and Jerry Chapman took 2nd place honors respectively. All contestants gave wonderful presentations. The winners will compete at the Area Contests on March 30 (Unity Christ Church at 6:00 pm). Plan to attend this fun event and support our club representatives.
